Scope and Sequence

In September 2007, NYC schools implemented one of three approved instructional approaches and programs, all of which meet State standards and the City’s new K-8 Science Scope and Sequence for science instruction and curriculum.

1. NSF Kit-based Approach (Full Kit Option)

2. Textbook Approach (Full Text Option)

3. Blended Approach (Blend Option)

This matrix shows the scope and sequence for the grades 3-7 kits selected by New York City Core Curriculum, including those used in the blend option.
